Crafting Your Perfect Wedding Day: Create your own Wedding Traditions

When it comes to planning your perfect wedding day, the world is your oyster. Gone are the days of rigid traditions and strict rules that dictate how a wedding should be. Today, brides and grooms have the creative freedom to think outside the box and design a wedding that's a true reflection of their unique love story. So, why not let your imagination run wild and create a day that's all about you?

The starting point for any unconventional wedding is your love story. What makes your journey unique? Embrace your shared interests, experiences, and passions, and use them as the building blocks for your wedding theme. Perhaps you both share a love for travel, books, or a favorite movie. Let this love story guide your wedding day.

Hannah and Alex let their love story lead the way. They first chose to have an intimate moment before their ceremony and share private vows. This allowed them to express their love without the pressure of guests listening. Next, the chose to have a semi-private ceremony with only immediate family in attendance and their closest friends as their bridal party. Their grandmother's also had a special role, they were the flower girls. A close friend was also chosen to be their officiant, making the entire ceremony much more meaningful to the couple. They chose to include signing their marriage certificate as part of their wedding ceremony when traditionally this would be done in private afterwards.

After the ceremony, all those who attended the ceremony enjoyed a relaxing cocktail hour filled with delicious food, drinks and plenty of time for family photos. Alex and Hannah's additional guests began to arrive and were seated before the couple made their grand entrance before beginning their first dance for all to see. Tradition says that the bride and groom each do a dance: father/daughter and mother/son dance. This couple decided to adjust tradition to meet their own needs where the bride danced with her father and step-father within the same son. The groom and bride then had a separate song where they each danced with their own mothers in a very moving moment.

Ultimately, the key to crafting your perfect wedding day is to be unapologetically yourselves. Let your personalities shine through in every aspect of your celebration. This day is about your love, your journey, and your vision for the future.

In the end, your wedding day should be a beautiful reflection of your love story and your unique personalities. So, go ahead and think outside the box, because the possibilities are endless when it comes to creating a wedding day that's authentically, beautifully, and perfectly yours.
