I can't wait for your Lifestyle Session!

This is YOUR time. YOUR moments. YOUR memories. I just get to capture them. These will be such sweet memories that you'll want to print these out, hang them in your house and share them with all your friends and family members. Doing this session from the comfort of your own home is one reason why you'll be completely comfortable in front of the camera.

Style Guide

Colors

When choosing colors for your outfits, I recommend selecting softer, lighter tones and more muted shades. I suggest selecting colors the at complement each other instead of focusing on "matching".

Color ideas include: soft pink and muted blues, mixed with sophisticated light neutrals like heather gray, creams, leather brown and white.

Clothing

Typically with Lifestyle sessions, you are wanting to capture you and your loved one(s) as you naturally are.

The most important part of selecting your clothing is picking something your feel comfortable and confident in. Dress it up or stay casual? It's totally up to you!

Accessories

Pairing an accessory or two with your outfit (or a little one's outfit) can really help bring some extra dimension to your images.

When accessorizing a little one, keep in mind that they may not like the headband or tie you have them wearing which could make them upset.

Daylight

Since these sessions will be indoor at your home, we don't have to worry about Washington weather. We'll instead focus on time of day.

I highly encourage you to think about your home, the amount of light different rooms receive and at what time of the day. That will help us when choosing the best time for lighting.

What to expect at your session

My job is to capture your "real moments" - in order to do that, here's some things to keep in mind:

  • Live in the moment - I may give you feedback or something to alter in your positioning but I want you to stay in the moment.
  • Example: If you're looking into each other's eyes and I tell one of you to move your hand to the other's face - hold that eye contact!
  • Communication - If there's something you're not comfortable with, let me know. These photos are for YOU, not me. I want you to look back on them and think "yeah, that's so us!".
  • Remember, kids will be kids! They may be fussy, pouting or dancing around but the more they feel comfortable, the better the experience will be for everyone.
  • Have fun! You can put on your favorite Spotify playlist, relax and enjoy those precious moments.

FAQ

Will you photoshop the clutter out of my home?

A.Short answer - no. I highly recommend that if we are having your session in your own home that the rooms you want to be photographed in be picked up.

Can we wear multiple outfits?

A.If you've chosen the Adore or Cherish portrait package, absolutely! But remember, the contract states a clear start and end time so if an outfit change takes too long, it will take away from our time together.
